If it was a single person, they'd have to go looking for them separately. That seems risky. But then, if there were two... what are they chances of them picking the same night to kill? There were opportunities during the week...

...that being the case, if there were two, I wonder if they saw each other at any point. If they did, we may be able to catch the both... if one feels cornered, they might attempt to throw the blame on the other.

People ought to take responsibility for the things that they do, but I can't say I like the way we're meant to make them take responsibility for it. Especially when there doesn't seem to be anything we can do if we choose wrongly.

Usually it's jail, not... an immediate death sentence. 'nd there's a hell of a lot more time to get all the facts together.

The amount of time we have to not only find evidence of what happened, but analyze it - it's not nearly enough.

How fast d'you think we can work?

Hmm... in theory, quickly. There are enough of us - we could have some of us focus on one victim, and some of us focus on the other.

The problem becomes determining which evidence belongs to which victim, once they're found - a task made more difficult if there's any sort of overlap.

[housewolf]

So we need to get through investigation fast, and then sort out evidence.

... This is gonna be hard.

I'm a bit concerned that others may need more convincing - but, well, perhaps two victims will be convincing enough.

I'm concerned that after our failure last week, if there's too much to sift through this week or too much that doesn't make sense, people may give up.

But one would think that the fact that this has happened again at all is an indication that we can't do so.

... At least Mineo and Sasazuka seem to have experience. Even if it's not within the time limit.

I've investigated things before, but - under much different circumstances. [she frowns] From the sound of things, their experiences are the most similar to what we've got to deal with.

We can learn. That's one good thing about people - if given the opportunity to do so, we'll never stop learning.

Yeah. It's definitely a plus. Even if I hoped it wouldn't come down to this.

Well, whether I agree with it or not, it's what happened. We can't change it; we can only change how we react as we move forward.

In my experience it has been. If it could be changed, I think there are many who would change things so they could have much easier lives.
