You're younger now, with a group of guys and a sense of familiarity and fondness runs through you. This is your place to belong. Their motorcycles are all there, by the side of the road. A blonde haired boy calls out to you and the rest of the guys, "Hey, check me out! This suit makes me look badass, right?"

You think he looks like a kid dressed up for his first piano recital, it's godawful. But you and the rest of the group nod, like you don't want to hurt his feelings.

The boy doesn't notice, he comes and stands right in front of you, hands proudly on his hips.

"All right, come and get a good shot o' me in this!"

"Whaddya need a picture of you in a suit like that for?" Seriously, there have to be better outfits than this awful ensemble.

"Well... y'know!" He's not giving you a straight answer, but he's insisting upon a picture. You can't bring yourself to deny him, and so you borrowed your father's old camera.

This thing is so old and you don't know how to use it. You hit the shutter and hope for the best.

"There. I took one. Happy?" He asked for a picture, you took one. It's over now, isn't it?

"C'mon, man! Don't just half-ass it!" He's whining and you're so fond of him that you don't really want to argue.

"I can't help it. I don't even know how to use the damn thing."]

that's definitely... she's seen the occasional modern place in the memories she's had shared with her, but the motorcycles are something new. the suit, she's at least familiar enough with people's fashions from here to recognize...]

Ah... a friend of yours?

[He pulls his hand back immediately and stuffs it in a pocket.]

[she smiles at that. it's nice to have best friends.]

I'm sure he's looking forward to when you come back.

I'm looking forward to seeing him too.

I just have to make it to the end of all of this.

You will. [im going to be upset if omi dies next week] We'll get you through this.

...my goal is to get as many of us out of here as possible, so that's definitely not something I'm going to give up on.

What was your goal for coming here in the first place?

[well, she could just explain it.

or, a series of memories could do it for her! although at many points in time she was too young to remember it consciously, she was still there; now, all the details play out with perfect clarity.

these are things she's lived through, but when they come out of the memories, it's clear that having been exposed to them already hasn't made the fear any less. if anything, it's only made it worse.]

But it can't find me here. And when I leave this place, I'll be leaving with the power to deal with it once and for all.

I don't think they thought it was going to turn out like this. Or, at least, I don't think they wanted it to.
