Being able to say... "that's enough," or "they're safe," or "I'm happy." And then being able to rest, and pass on into... [she pauses.] ...where I come from, all those who die pass on into the cycle of reincarnation... with two exceptions.

If you have lingering attachments that are strong enough, you could become a ghost. But if you're a god, when you die... that's it. That's the end.

We live for a long time, but... not forever, necessarily. When it's over, then it's enough.

And I must be something of a ghost. [Lingering attachments.] A god and a ghost in the same place, drunk off the same wine. Going to be quite the funny story after this is over.

If you're trying to convert a worshipper, then I suppose I should tell you I've already committed to another goddess, but she isn't the jealous type.

Wild, wonderful, terrible, terrific, as myriad as you like. Of course, there's the legal ones and the illegal ones. I suppose you won't be turning me into the Empire for worship crimes, though.

[He reaches to one of the necklaces he has, a pendant of a silvery dragon on a chain, toying with it.]

[her gaze drops to the dragon pendant when he fiddles with it. pretty...]

Mm, I'd say by arresting anyone who's caught worshipping the wrong one is the ordinary method of making something illegal?

[Said lightly.]

This is the Platinum Dragon. Very legal, very cool. Figured I'd wear it around, make myself look a touch more acceptable.

[honestly? it's rude. sure, every god wants worshippers, but ultimately, their worship has to be sincere. restricting which gods people are allowed to worship just seems... wrong, to her.]

Empire's got its own reasoning for everything I'm sure.

[He just drops the pendant again, back into his shirt. Or like on his chest it's not like his shirt covers anything.]

[looks at the "moral alignment" i put on her app. riiight on the cusp of Neutral and Chaotic Good yep that tracks.]

Oh! [He laughs.] Oh, don't get the impression I paid any heed to that illegal or legal shite. Really just best to avoid Crownsguard looking at you funny in a crowded tavern is all.

Her only tenants are to walk unbridled, and I think I do that rather well. Still, what would yours be? Drink until you fall down?

[the platinum dragon probably doesn't like that, but if it's a lawful deity, what's it gonna do, smite molly for carrying its symbol? just seemingly smite him out of the blue? that wouldn't fit its image at all.

Ahaha, I suppose I deserve that. [she might be offended if 1. it was anyone else saying so and 2. he hadn't literally just found her on the floor and had to help her onto a couch.] I'm the Lady Windmaster - Lord Windmaster, sometimes. There's no particular thing those who follow me have to do. I'm happy just as long as they're not asking me for selfish things.

Do you know, someone once prayed for me to send a windstorm to destroy their rival's crops? Aaah, that was a funny prayer to get.

[It's fine probably. Some gods don't seem to care all that much about meddling, especially with just one tiefling having a lark.]

You'll have to show me the other form sometime, I'm sure I'd appreciate it just as much.

[He gently smooches her on the side of the head after the tease, to prove he didn't mean any harm. Or some harm. Gentle harm only.]

And what'd you do?

I would if I could! I enjoy this form, but it's a little strange not being able to change between them whenever I feel like it...

[the worst part of nerfing, honestly. she chuckles. gentle harm only is fine.]

I left the rival's crops alone, but I sent a gentle wind to mess up the person who prayed for that's hair whenever he stepped outside for three days. He never prayed to me for that sort of thing again, but he did pray to me for other things, so I didn't lose him as a follower.

[He likes that story so much, he doesn't care if it's true or not. It's nice to believe, for a moment, there's a god out there who listens so much to the woes of one man, and then considers them so carefully. A gentle breeze and a lesson learned. Like a fable.]

A soft-hearted goddess. Now I've seen everything.

My brother lectures me about that sort of thing all the time. He thinks I should be tougher - but that's why they call him the "Water Tyrant".

[that gets her to giggle, but there's a very soft smile on her face as she quiets down.]
