Indeed. It does give us time to talk, though. Eleanor explained to me that this ship is being powered off of all of us—chiefly, it will use the dead as fuel first. She also said that a red-haired person may be important, and that the dead at times receive visions.

...so... ideally, we should end this before the dead are used as fuel. But - did she say what sort of visions? ...and what "red-haired person"...?

I think that may be why they're encouraging you to indulge. If we do that, perhaps they'll be spared somehow...

Unfortunately, she didn't clarify any more from there. But I wanted to ask—did you see anyone with red hair on your 'adventure?' We encountered a toy that looked like a red-haired jester, and I recognized him in one of the tanks.

...if that's the case, then I'll indulge as much as it takes.

[(me, closing my eyes: horny indulgences only from now on)]

No... we didn't see anyone like that. We saw the four people from here and people that we knew from home, but other than that - we didn't see any other people. Just a furry, beaked creature in the vents.

[ she nods, choosing to ignore the horny indulgences. ]

A furry... what?

[she makes a face]

A furry creature. It had demonic-looking eyes, and a beak that another beak came out of when it attacked us.

I think I might have preferred to see the red-haired jester.

[ she sighs. ]

These adventures feel so pointless.

[ just almost losing our people to furry beak creatures. ]

Though... that does remind me, do you happen to own a jade fan?

...I don't know that it was necessarily pointless - but there's quite a bit that happened that I don't understand yet. I mean to speak with the Avatars about it, but...

[with. the weekend. and everything. she's saving that for monday.]

[she looks startled, and then pulls her fan out of her belt, unfolding it so that vira can see it.]

On one of the shelves in the many rooms on our adventure, there was a jade fan—I thought it might be connected to you somehow. There were a few objects I didn't understand in general.

...it certainly has been.

[just. big oof about this entire weekend.]

I see... well, I've had a fair number of jade artifacts in my time, and I always keep this fan with me... [but who knows?] ...what other sorts of objects did you see, if you don't mind my asking?

[ she has to think back on this one, wow how have i been alive so long ]

Mm, well, there was the jester. I saw him in one of the pods, and he seemed out of place there. Then there was the fan, and one of the monsters we encountered may have had a... passing resemblance to one of the participants here. There was also this sheet of paper.

[ she'll pull up a picture for her. it's pretty sparse. ]

Also, one of the Avatars knew one of the people we encountered. It leads me to believe that while these adventures may not mimic any of our worlds, they do borrow quite a lot of details from our memories.

...mm. That would make an unfortunate amount of sense - if this ship is being powered from us as you said, then it stands to reason it could very easily tap into our memories that way.

It does seem that way... though I don't understand how we can both be here and in those pods.

May I ask who all you saw? I do not mean to pry, but at this point I wonder what any of the connections are.

It's not prying - I've shared what I've seen with plenty of others. I don't think there's any real use for secrecy at this point.

We saw Yuri, Harrow, White, and Childe - and then each of us saw someone that I believe is someone we knew from home. For me, it was... well, it was Ming-xiong, but I didn't recognize the other three. Each on of the others recognized one of them, though.

...Yes, we encountered something like that too. One for each of us. That seems to be common amongst these outings.

I don't know if this brings us any closer to answers.

I don't know that it does, either. But - the decision we had to make at the end, and the results of the decision we made, echoed what happened to me when I investigated the simulation room on my own a few weeks ago.

So I struggle to think that it's irrelevant.

[ she looks thoughtful at that, pensive. ]

Interesting. I have not been faced with the same challenge as the one at the end of our adventure, but... [ hm. ] Did that monster sound like any of the creatures we've encountered so far?

I don't know if it was identical, but - the purring sounded like what I'd heard in the simulation room. The skittering sounded like that, too.

And I think those sounded similar to the other noises we've heard.

I don't know that it's coincidence or not, but when I first encountered that skittering noise, it was accompanied by something furry. I had thought it was perhaps that strange creature that tried to get into our rooms during curfew last week, but...

[ who knows. hard to say which pieces are connected. ]

I'm hoping talking with the Avatars about it will help make things a little more clear. I'm just not sure the timing is right at the moment, what with -

[she waves a hand at the medbay door.

[ she shoots a dead-eyed look at the door. ]

Ah, yes. What do you suppose we ought to do with him? I didn't think we should kill him when everyone was watching, considering the one who saved him might be in the audience.

[ she says this all pretty matter-of-factly. ]

Though I do not care for justice, he does pose a threat.

[oof. now, that's certainly a question, isn't it.]

I think you're right - that he does pose a threat. I couldn't just let him bleed out in front of us while we were all right there, but I... [...] I don't think I could live with it if he hurt someone else.

We knew Misa was a threat, but she very nearly killed someone anyway. I could not bring myself to stop her beforehand, lest we continue this cycle of death, but Grace's death would've been on my head.

I think we will have to be cautious, or remove him before Thursday provides him the opportunity to kill again.

[ she speaks clearly and cuts to the quick. she had respected sqx's kindness during execution more than the half-hearted desires to kill childe. but she already knows what her own decision would be. ]

[she glances at the medbay door and bites her lip.]

...if there were some way to be absolutely certain that he wouldn't attempt to kill again, I'd feel a little better about this.

[and she hates herself for saying this, but - ]

But I don't know that there is, unless having killed and having come back from the execution counts as enough of an indulgence that there's no need for him to try again. But I don't know if there's any way for us to believe that there is, unless we could ask him, and have some sort of power that would allow us to tell if he's telling the truth...

Even so, that gives him too much room to navigate around us.

[ too many chances he doesn't deserve. ]

We will do everything we can, but once people have had time to think, I do believe he'll have to be dealt with. While I sincerely doubt anyone would allow him to live past this week, giving him the opportunity to kill again, however slim, does not sit right with me. I did not forgive Misa, and I will not forgive him.
