But as for why I agreed to be here... it's no real secret. [she shrugs.] There's a monster that's been stalking me. I've been lucky enough to have friends who will help me deal with it, but it could get dangerous - so when I got the chance to earn the power to deal with it on my own, I took it.

It's a parasitic ghost from my homeland known as a Venerable of Empty Words - or a Jinx Monster. It latches onto someone and curses them repeatedly. If they manage to avoid the worst of it the first few times, it'll keep at it until they give up and kill themselves.

I don't know about more than anyone else, really. But it doesn't necessarily have to be about deserving it more than the others, does it? In theory, if we all keep indulging, we should all be able to get what we want.
